| - “Abeo. We’ve got Senator Golan Zen here. Do you still wish to speak with him?” Kendo Shan asked over the communicator. “Of course I do!” Abeo angrily responded. “Very well. I will bring him to the Senate side door. We will enter and begin the talks.” “No!” Abeo shouted “The Senator will come alone and unarmed. Nobody is to follow him or he will be killed. Is that understood?” “Very well.” Shan calmly responded. The Senator, a human, walked foreword through the safety tape and the Courtyard. He walked passed the main doors and around the corner from the view of the Republic forces. After reaching the side door he stopped and waited. The door shot up and the Senator found himself facing a gun. He slowly walked through and into the Main Hall. Abeo walked up to him and removed his mask. “Senator Golan Zen I presume?” Enquired Abeo. “Correct, and you must be Abeo” replied the Senator. “What is it you wish to speak to me with?” “I want to talk to you about the Union.” “Ah, you know of it. Come with me please Abeo” Abeo followed Golan Zen behind the room partition. He gestured for Abeo to sit down. “Now. You want to know what the Union is do you. Well, let’s see. Firstly, how do you know about it?” Zen enquired. “Betrayal.” Abeo replied beneath his breath. “A Yagoan called Pantene” “Pantene? Should of guessed” ”You know him?” “I’m one of the few who know him by that name. He is currently a Council member for the Union.” “What is the Union?” asked Abeo. “The Union was created 2258 years ago by the Dark Lord of the Sith Sam Sinays. Sinays was a powerful Sith Lord who ruled one of the Sith largest empires. After a 30-year war with the Republic he had conquered some 56 sectors. This resulted in a neutral zone being created between the two super powers.” Abeo shuffled in his chair. “Eight years after the war rebels from within the Sith Empire started raiding Sith supply ships. Sam Sinays responded with overwhelming force. Almost destroying them at one point. The rebels though, were being secretly aided by the Republic and after 2 years of Civil war Zoist, the Sith Homeworld at the time had fallen. Much of the Sith Army began to desert or defect causing massive repercussions throughout the empire. Eventually Sam Sinays faced an overwhelming defeat. He knew he had to act quickly. “So the Union was created. Sinays got some 90,000 loyal soldiers and trained them using live ammunition and life threatening scenarios. After sixes months only 9000 had survived.” By now, Abeo had obviously become interested in this story, as shown by the fact that he had pulled his chair closer to Zen. “These 9000 turned the course of the war. Sinays regained the territory he had lost in the last 2 years and continued to expand. Soon the Republic found itself once again facing defeat at the hands of the Sith. Now armed with the powerful new Union the Sith were all but invincible. The Republic amassed its fleets. Before long the Union attacked the Republic in ten systems simultaneously. The Republic fleet, some 600 vessels, was destroyed by the Union fleet of only 250 ships. With the fleet destroyed the Republic braced for the onslaught. The Union was never heard of again.” “Until now it seems.” “So it seems.” Abeo stood up from his chair and came back from behind the partition with the Senator in his stride. “Now Senator. I want access to the Republic Military Archives. If I am not given this I will kill everybody in this building.” “Don’t worry Abeo, you will get to see the Archives” With this Golan Zen turned away and left the building. He could be seen running back to the command centre. When he arrived Kendo Shan jumped from his seat and ran to the Senator, saluted him and asked of his meeting. Zen responded by saying, “Kill him!” Kendo Shan hesitated at this for a second, but bowed and left the command centre. Next: Life or death
