Zarek is quite an influential figure, and a master manipulator, tricking the minds of many to follow his cause. Most of his history is unknown making him a mystery, but what is known is that he and Xerxes are somehow released through their past.

Zarek claims that he is the rightful descendant of the King of the Dark Tribe, which's history is shrouded in mystery. However, his campaign and cause is based around this mysterious tribe, claiming that he will take back his rightful throne, and the Giza Region altogether. Despite being the boss, Zarek is rarely ever in the Giza region, traveling around, gathering other descendants of the Dark Tribe, as well as many Pokemon for his cause, accumulating money, while his subjects and admins back in Giza attempt to take over the region and prepare it for their new "King".
