After getting pregnant, in The Sims 3, but before the belly shows, eating 3 apples will increase the likeliness of having a baby boy. Whereas eating 3 watermelons will increase the likeliness of having a baby girl. However, you cannot manually choose their gender unless you use forceboy/girl in the cheat menu(ctrl shift c) You cannot create a baby Sim when you create your family in CAS. The game update to version 1.4 mentions in the complete list of changes that eating specific prepared meals no longer has an impact on an unborn baby's gender. See: [1]
