The Cummins M11 was ntroduced in 1994. It was built off of the previous L10 engine (same 4.921" cylinder bore, but a longer 5.787" piston stroke compared to the L10's 5.354" stroke). In 1996, Cummins made changes and added an electronic control system to the engine to improve fuel effeciency and reliability. This was called the M11 Plus or M11E.
