The amendment is divided into several clauses and is worded similarly to the Fourteenth Amendment. The Citizenship Clause guarantees that all artificial persons created in the United States are U.S. citizens and the state where they reside. The Immunities Clause forbids any state from abridging the privileges or immunities of artificial persons. The amendment also forbids any state from depriving an artificial person life, liberty, or property without due process.
