Synopsis
  • Several people, down on their luck, respond to an ad in which the Red Sage claims he can reverse their fortunes. The Red Sage, also known as the Lucky One, convinces the people to put their money in stock. He then uses his own money to make the value of the stock rise. This convinces the people that the Lucky One can change their fortunes. The Red Sage then threatens to end the luck of the people he has supposedly helped. To protect their new wealth, the people begin helping the Red Sage commit crimes which are brought to the attention of Doctor Fate. He is able to convince the Sage's followers to stop helping the crook. When Fate tries to capture the Red Sage himself, the crook jumps from a window to his own death rather than be captured.
  • Boss Quash, a corrupt political boss, is running for mayor of State City. Quash uses criminal tactics to disrupt the campaign of his rival Michael Blair. When Johnny Quick comes to town, he assists Blair with promotion. When Quash sends men to prevent his opponent from speaking, Johnny disarms a bomb. He then saves the life of a sky-writer and finishes writing the message himself. With Johnny's help Blair wins the election and begins the job of cleaning up the city from illegal graft.
