The 1884 presidential election of Rio Blanco took place on 1 August 1884, to elect the president of Rio Blanco. In this election, the same methods as in 1876 and 1880 were used: * In the first round, a council of 50 men (the Major Councillors) voted; * In the second round, 47,500 people voted. The election saw Progressive Party candidate John S. Vynn becoming President of Rio Blanco, the first from his party. After the election, the Liberty Party of Rio Blanco merged with the Progressive Party.
