As I walked through the underground tunnels, I wondered how I survived. I thought for sure I would be in StarClan when the roof of the tunnel collapsed. I shouldn't be alive. I killed Ashfur because he was going to tell our secret, then I told it at a Gathering! I had been here as an apprentice before. I knew that Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw were not my parents, but Leafpool and Crowfeather were.

  • As I walked through the underground tunnels, I wondered how I survived. I thought for sure I would be in StarClan when the roof of the tunnel collapsed. I shouldn't be alive. I killed Ashfur because he was going to tell our secret, then I told it at a Gathering! A spot of moonlight shone through a small hole above me. Is StarClan watching over me? Or are they angered at what I've done? I wondered, stopping at a fork in the seemingly endless path. I turned towards the one on the right and padded into that tunnel. I inhaled a faint scent. It was faint, but it was there. It was the scent of my brothers, Breezepelt, Heathertail, Swallowpaw, Sedgepaw, and Thistlepaw! I had been here as an apprentice before. I knew that Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw were not my parents, but Leafpool and Crowfeather were. I followed the scent until it was lost at a river. I layed on the cold earth praying to StarClan that they would visit me in a dream. I closed my eyes and went to sleep. I blinked and saw the lake. I heard a familiar voice calling to me. I turned and saw Honeyfern standing with an unfamiliar blue-gray she-cat. "Honeyfern, are you really there?" I asked. "Yes, and this is Bluestar." she answered. "Did I anger StarClan? Will they forgive me?" I questioned. Bluestar padded forward. "We were disapointed, but we are going to forgive you." she told me. "Follow us. We will help you find your way out of these tunnels." Honeyfern promised me. In a flash of light we were back in the tunnels, the roar of the underground river in my ears. Honeyfern and Bluestar lead me through the maze of underground channels, knowing where each crack and crevice was. I had spent so long in the darkness of the tunnels, that when I saw the greenleaf sun, I shrieked in pain. When my eyes adjusted to the sun, I walked, glad to feel springy grass uder my paws instead of hard soil and rocks. I heard the voice of a she-cat, who was yowling that she didn't want to be part of a prophecy. Before I had gotten trapped in the tunnels, I was suposed to be part of a prophecy. I walked towards the sound of the she-cat's enraged meow. I saw three cats: a golden tabby tom, a small gray tabby tom, and a pale gray she-cat. The two toms were my brothers, Jayfeather and Lionblaze! I wasn't sure who the she-cat was though. I bounded over to them calling out their names. They stared at me in shock. "Hollyleaf?" they asked in unison. I nodded my head in response. Finally, I had escaped the tunnels and returned to ThunderClan.
