Formed in 2564, the 37th battalion was initially led by Lt. Colonel Alexander Banks, and comprised of approximately 300 marines. They were stationed on the small colony of Posfin V along with multiple other military units, as the colony's placement allowed for quick emergency access to the surrounding systems in the event of an attack. The unit was then restationed onto UNSC Freedom Star, a navy support destroyer. The 37th remained stationed here, until 2570, when a simple mission soon turned into a tragedy.

  • Formed in 2564, the 37th battalion was initially led by Lt. Colonel Alexander Banks, and comprised of approximately 300 marines. They were stationed on the small colony of Posfin V along with multiple other military units, as the colony's placement allowed for quick emergency access to the surrounding systems in the event of an attack. In 2568, the 37th Battalion was called out along with others, to aid in the defense of UNSC colony Wevnada. They were tasked with defending the Generation Technology labs, which were under siege from the Covenant at the time of arrival. The mission to secure the colony was a success, although many other units involved in the conflict suffered heavy casualties. As a result, some of these were no longer sustainable units, and so were merged into the 37th battalion, which had suffered minor casualties. The unit was then restationed onto UNSC Freedom Star, a navy support destroyer. The 37th remained stationed here, until 2570, when a simple mission soon turned into a tragedy.
