Shrak pits were large desert creatures that buried themselves in the sand and left its mouth on the surface for catching prey. A shrak pit's mouth was quite large in size, allowing it to catch larger prey. During adolescence, the shrak pit buried itself in the ground and used its roots to anchor itself so it can leech nutrients from the ground to grow. After it had finished growing, its body and roots were completely enclosed in the ground, with only its pit-like maw on the surface. Its maw was very useful, since it was shaped like a pit, prey would usually fall in and be swallowed. The mouth also had tentacles on the rims of its gums that would latch out and grab prey and pull it into its mouth to be eaten. • Shrak pits were large desert creatures that buried themselves in the sand and left its mouth on the surface for catching prey. The shrak pit also had a small extension of the throat to help it catch prey, which was shaped like a beak, that would emerge from the throat to catch prey strong enough to get away. The shrak pit's mouth also had three rows of inward-pointed teeth that functioned to keep prey in the mouth by means of their great sharpness. After its prey had been swallowed, it made its way to the stomach, where tendrils from the inside fed caustic juices into the victim and leeched out the nutrient rich juices that resulted from the digestion. Not many people knew exactly how long it took for the shrak pit to digest its prey, but, after extensive research on the part of scientists, the estimated time was around a week. The shrak pit's tentacles had small veins inside, with a retractable stinger on each one, that could fetch acidic juices from its stomach, so that the stingers could inject acid into stronger prey on the outside of its maw, inflicting pain on the inside of the victim, making it easier to catch and swallow.
