  • At the behest of my lovely wife I joined her in taking the Bioresonance route. While my scientific background has me convinced that the whole thing is nothing more than a smoke and mirrors placebo, neither of us has smoked in the two weeks since. This after 32 and 20-something years. While the lovely wife remains convinced that the "treatment" worked, I'm equally certain that we're doing it cold turkey. But I'm mean enough after having shelled out a fairly substantial sum of money that I want to get it back in unsmoked cigarettes. Should take about 5 weeks - and by that time we should be over the worst of it!
  • Written by Ian Dean with art (including a cover page and various doodles) by M. Dean, the Regent Stories are short stories that follow the Shadows, and are narratives. They follow most of the same rules as the Comics, taking place in one month, and progressing through the years of 1987-2000. The characters interact with the same Mains, Sides, and anyone else that might be encountered in the comic, and they offer more insight on plots, areas around town, and character development. They can take place either before or after the events seen in the comics.

  • To whoever the fuck wants to read this, So what if it's wrong to break the code of silence strictly enforced by a punishment of pure nothingness for all eternity? It's better than dealing with an eternity of mundanity and an inability to just fucking die. I mean, gods can't reincarnate so it's not like we can forget anything that happens ever. It's just one mind fucking jumble and it sucks. But I'm getting ahead of myself just a bit. I can't quite tell you what I am trying to tell you unless you know a few things before hand. • My favourite story is actually one that someone else told me while I was pregnant. She had just finished getting her oldest daughter ready for her first dance and said she could remember back to when she had breastfed her. During one night feeding while the entire house was dark and it was just them she said "one day I will be getting you ready for your first dance but that is a far way off...". Makes you think of all of the special moments only the two of you can share when you breastfeed. --Anon

First, you should know that the "gods" are real in a loose sense of the term. No, there isn't an invisible sky monster watching you like some celestial fucking Santa waiting for you to fuck up so he can put you on his "naughty" list and watch you writhe in flame. The gods just exist on a different plane of existence that seems to connect all alternate dimensions to one another. Us "divine" beings or whatever you could call us evolved just like every other life form we currently know of but with one stark difference. We, the first to evolve on any plane, didn't have "souls". When we noticed life forms evolving on other planets in other dimensions we noticed that they would die and something would fly through the thinly veiled dimensional rift into our world. That happened to be a soul and it would tend to fly into another dimension, sometimes getting stuck in our world until it could be driven out. That's when we decided as an entire people to help these curious little things travel through the dimensions. We deemed it reincarnation flow. Second, you should know about alternate universes. I know I explained it a bit up there but this is more in depth. There are alternate universes that are literally infinite. Whatever you can imagine or can't even fathom has a dimension of its own and they are all connected by our dimension. The alternates that are closest together are connected to each other as well and it forms sort of a web on top of our thinly layered dimension. We tend to watch all universes with life and stay away from the ones that don't. We also try our hardest to keep soul from entering the places that haven't evolved the soul yet, because unlike our world, the interference makes them completely collapse. So part of the regulation of the reincarnation flow is to prevent that from happening. Now that you know the basics I can tell you what I've been trying to for a while. Have you ever wondered how stories came about? Not like histories where there is no artistic flair what so ever, but like books, novels and pictures. Things that show a glimpse of what should be an alternate world to the very world you are living in right now. All of those are narrations of events or portraits of events that are ingrained in a god's mind. Not to say that humanity isn't creative or any other higher life form for that matter, it's just that most of the time the so called "muse" in the situation is a god with a hand over a receptive life form putting the words into their head, much like I'm doing right now. It's a very simple concept to wrap your mind around, I mean how do you think that the stories about far off galaxies or fantasy worlds with elves and all that had been thought up with such detail? It's a god's memory and when you live to hundreds of thousands of years boredom seeps through you and you MUST release it somehow. Ah, as I said, I'm bored too. So bored in fact I'm risking breaking the one rule that must never be broken just to get this shitty existence over with. Gods aren't supposed to let the other life form in on the little secret because in societies with religion bad things occur and any higher life form that knows a god exists tend to try and worship it, but I don't quite care since this society is going to hell anyway. Besides, it's a cruel joke to let you think all your inspiration is yourself when you are just following the ramblings of a god's time addled brain. But I should say right now that unlike you "soul" carriers, we god's have it better in a way. We can finally dissolve into nothing, which is what I'll do after I hit enter and put this on the net. Once it's there they can't delete it and everyone will know the secret. Sure we can't die natural death but we can still kill one another much like you human types do... Sincerely- No- Fuckin' - Body P.S. Sorry for any grammar or punctuation mistakes, I had to work fast before they came to kill me...
  • Commander Steele relates to Silver the Hedgehog the tale of the Miracle Planet being being used as a hiding place for refugees during Mobius' war with Robotnik. Unfortunately, the story ends with the Miracle Planet phasing from Mobius' reality, with Amy Rose stuck on it, just as Super Sonic attacks Mobius itself. Steele tells Silver that he will be going back in time to save Mobius from "the Iblis" (Super Sonic) and then recounts a story that his father was told by Amy as a refugee. The story is that of The Unbeatable Foe but, as Steele recalls it, it is vastly different from the actual events of Issue 32, with Tails being presented as the hero and Sonic as the gullible sidekick. It is at this point it becomes obvious the events of past STC stories have been altered and reshaped over years of re-tellings as Silver recognises the story as the one where Tails met a heroic death, yet Steele remembers a different ending, one where Tails soundly defeated the monster- both at odds with the actual version of events. Steele tells Silver how Amy's legend grew and how she became G.U.N.'s finest member along with help from Tekno the Cybernik, Norris Hard, Mr Big and Bob the Plax, all working under the previous Commander Steele (Sergeant Tin). Steele tells Silver how Amy's stories to the refugee children and her own legacy helped give hope. Silver is told to face Iblis with that same hope and courage. The story ends with a flashback to many years ago- visibly upset, Tails confides in Amy his mistake in fighting the Unbeatable Foe and how he was almost killed. Amy comforts Tails with another story that she has reshaped from the original, telling him that Sonic was terrified of the Metallix on the Miracle Planet during their time there.

  • GarouMUSH is about stories. In the global sense there is one overall story that involves what happens in and around the city of St. Claire, with the emphasis on the Garou. This story is in turn made up of many smaller stories. Some current stories are located and logs of scenes can be found . What follows is a brief guide to help players determine when their own story ideas might require prior discussion with a wizard. * Stories that involve a large supernatural presence or affect a great deal of the MUSH's population are considered to be Feature Stories. Applications for such stories must be submitted to the wizards for approval. * Events that involve minor spirits (the creation of a talen or fetish, a bane encounter, etc.) or take place in one of the Umbral Realms should be discussed with a wizard before they are pursued. Certain exceptions are made for those listed on the GM list. * All other situations are restricted only by common sense. This includes not only interaction with other characters, but also dealings with your pack's own totem spirit and minor plotlines that don't involve a supernatural presence. Steps to Feature Story submission: 1. * Think of an interesting idea for a story and submit a brief proposal (3-5 paragraphs that cover the main points, but not necessarily all the details) to garou-stories@GarouMUSH.org. 2. * Wait two to three weeks for a response. If your story is tentatively accepted you will hear back from the wizard who will serve as your contact wiz. If it is rejected, someone will get back to you to explain what about the story didn't meet with approval. 3. * Once accepted, work with the contact wiz to develop a more detailed story outline. Often there will be comments and suggestions made by the wizards for you to consider. This second story outline may need to be resent to the wiz mailing list for final approval. 4. * Receive permission to post to the story board, which lists all current feature stories. You are now ready to begin your story. Here are some things the wizards will want to know at some point in time. Try to keep them in mind when developing your story. 1. * Plot. This includes rising action, conflicts, a climax, falling action, and a denouement. Consider also contingencies, loose ends, future hooks, and an estimated timeframe. 2. * Theme and mood. 3. * Cast of players. For the NPCs involved, what are their motivations, and how permanent are they? Are any specific characters needed to participate? Who might this story interest? What hooks exist to get them involved? 4. * Location. Will temporary building need to be done? If so, what? 5. * Weird requirements. This includes such things as NPCs, fetishes, moon-bridge openings, caern attacks, etc. 6. * Staff. Will other players help with the NPCs? Will there be a co-GM? 7. * Schedule. Will the story be run primarily in the evenings, on the weekends, during the daytime?
  • My favourite story is actually one that someone else told me while I was pregnant. She had just finished getting her oldest daughter ready for her first dance and said she could remember back to when she had breastfed her. During one night feeding while the entire house was dark and it was just them she said "one day I will be getting you ready for your first dance but that is a far way off...". Makes you think of all of the special moments only the two of you can share when you breastfeed. I remember what I felt like when I breastfed my daughter for the first time. It wasn't the beautiful, life changing moment I thought it would be. Rather it was awkard and painful. I had no clue what I was supposed to do and neither did she. I fumbled through the first weeks in a daze, partly from being sleep deprived and partly because I found being a mother for the first time very overwhelming. Here was this tiny baby who needed me in order to survive. My body had changed in too numerous ways to mention and I was at her beck and call 24 hrs a day. Previously I had been very independant and I found it difficult to put my life on hold for her. Then fast forward to the birth of my second child. I was looking so forward to breastfeeding her. I knew that it would take a bit of an adjustment period in the begining but I now knew the rewards of nurturing my child through breastfeeding. I had not so distant memories of the coos and smiles my first daughter had given my while breastfeeding and I couldn't wait to experience that again. I couldn't wait to experience the joy I felt knowing that only I could nurture her with food that was made just for her. The second time was much easier then the first. Then after the birth of my third and last baby I experience pangs of sadness. I knew she would be my last baby and so I wanted to hang on to every minute, every hour I spent breastfeeding her. I loved knowing that I could calm her by simplying breastfeeding her. I loved knowing she was growing in my arms as I fed her. Where with my first I felt overwhelmed by her dependance on me, I was dreading the day when my last daughter decided she didn't need my milk to soothe and calm her anymore. With my first I longed for my independance, yet with my last I cherised the days when all she needed was to be held in my arms. Now my "baby" is 4 and my eldest is 11 and breastfeeding is in the distant past. I remember how I felt so overwhelmed in the begining with my first daughter, how some days it felt like all I did was breastfeed. Now it has been so much longer since I held and fed a baby at my breast that it has really put in to perspective for me what a short time we truly have with our babies! --Anon
