Born around 753 AUC in Bethlehem, Judea, Jesus of Nazareth was an obscure Jewish leader of the 8th century. According to both ancient Roman and Judaic texts, Jesus proclaimed himself the messiah. His mother was a supposed virgin who was impregnanted by God. Therefore, Jesus was the supposed son of God. The Jews believed that the messiah would come right before the end of the world, and his claims frightened the Jewish priesthood most of all. They sought him out, and brought him before the Roman governor of Judea. In order to avoid further chaos from Jesus' followers the governor let Jesus go. Jesus continued to lead his faith, which came to be known as Christianity, until his death in 831 AUC. His religion fell into chaos soon after.
