Emerging from the cloud after the death of Dr. Soran and the destruction of the trilithium rocket, Captain Picard makes his way down into the chasm where the bridge has collapsed. Digging through the twisted metal wreckage, Picard uncovers Captain Kirk, laying broken among the debris. Kirk is bloody and faint, "Did we make a difference?" Picard assures him they have and thanks the captain. "The least I could do," Kirk says, "for the captain of the Enterprise." He manages a weak smile, "It was... fun," then turns and faces his destiny, "Oh my."
