abstract
  • In the 2140s, when the NX Project was based at this facility, Jonathan Archer and A.G. Robinson were assigned to this center as test pilots. Charles Tucker III was assigned here, as well, as a member of the center's engineering staff. (ENT: "First Flight") The name of this facility, referencing warp drive inventor Zefram Cochrane, came from the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 513) . The reference work noted the name came from signage on the set. In the final draft script of "First Flight", the facility was identified as the NX-Launch Complex. The center's location is in dispute. It is either located in San Francisco (the final draft script) or in Mill Valley (Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, pp. 42 & 92).
