The Baldur's Gate trilogy are the novelizations of the Baldur's Gate computer game series. The first two novels are written by Philip Athans, editor of the Forgotten Realms novel line, and the third by Drew Karpyshyn. The novels are based on the storylines of the computer game series. They follow the bare basics of the original stories, but, as novels with linear and not very complex storylines, avoid several of the games' numerous subplots and only include a few of the NPCs. The Bhaalspawn main character from the games appears as Abdel Adrian in the novels.
