POLYGLOT was a supercomputer employed by the Crytographic Section of Galactic Alliance Intelligence. It was the product of five years of intensive collaboration between Galactic Alliance Intelligence and hired public-sector crytographic mathematicians. After the Yuuzhan Vong War's conclusion, Galactic Alliance consultants had projected despite the scars that the galaxy had felt during the war, the welts would be soon overrun by widespread civil disorder within months because of the inability of the Galactic Alliance's military to project power across the galaxy with its significantly reduced number of materiel and personnel.
