Richard Stevens Sly (c1839 - 12 December 1907) was a businessman and politician. Sly entered business in Cable Street, St George in the East, an area in the East End of London close to the docks. He traded as a ship chandler, waterproofer, and manufacturer of tarpaulins and olicloths, and a dealer in ropes and canvas. A member of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers of the City of London, he served as junior warden in 1886-1887 and 1897-1898 and as senior warden in 1887-1888 and 1898-1899.
