The company started as a Blacksmith's Shop in the town of Niederweningen, Switlerland. At the end of the war years, Bucher undertook an extensive development period with different engine and transmission options including water-cooled engines from Peugeot, Allis Chalmers, Guldner and MWM were to be fitted. From 1953 to 1973, Bucher built 4,948 tractors in Niederweningen, Switzerland.
