The PL1770 features an offset double cutaway alder body with rounded contours and edges bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups mounted on a color-matched pickguard with an IBZ triple-magnet humbucker at the bridge and Super 7F single coil pickups at the neck and middle positions and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut. In addition to the 5-way pickup selector lever, the PL1770 has a 5-button pickup preset system. The PL1770L is a left-handed version.
