Cheery Chummy was for a time the cover feature of the nursery comic Playbox. It featured an almost offensively cheerful little boy called Chummy and his cat Jinjie in a rather bizarre world vaguely reminiscent of Noddy's Toytown. Other inhabitants included Policeman Fish, Buster Bus, Swishy Speedboat and the feathered inhabitants of Cock-a-Doodle-Doo Town. Chummy's adventures ran from at least 1954 to 1955.
