The pharmaceutical company Pfitzer of the Matrix had coming out a new pill, contraceptive and aphrodisiac. It was a sold company and there would have been no great run-up in its share price. Butterfield's colleague bet on it and indeed, Pfitzer inched up as the rumor spread. When fast-track FDA approval was announced, it spiked and when sales started, it exploded, becoming rich.
