Mount Garben, known as the Two-Faced Mountain in the Ninth Pass, was a volcano located along the Jordan River. Landing was built on a plateau on its east side. Mount Garben was named for a senator who had helped the Pern Colony come into being. It had three smaller peaks running along its south side; these were almost named after the three members of the Exploration and Evaluation Corps who had surveyed the planet; Shavva, Liu & Turnien, but this was never made official. The second of the three peaks was later dubbed "Picchu Peak".
