Borocarbon is a chemical compound of the elements boron and carbon. It is a byproduct of reactions between tetrazine gas and plasma exhaust. (ENT: "Shockwave") Borocarbon is a real compound, boron carbide, obtained by treating graphite and boric acid in an electric furnace. It takes the form of hard brilliant black crystals, and is used as an abrasive for boring rocks and in the manufacture of dies and electrodes.
