Jubal Kennerly was the owner of the livery in the town of Tull. He is described as toothless and unpleasant. He was shot and killed in the Battle of Tull along with the rest of the town's inhabitants. When Roland encounters him and tries to stow his mule, he is rude and non-welcoming. He has buried two wives and has two daughters, including Soobie whom he verbally and physically abuses. Roland hires him to watch his mule and to tell him what might be out in the desert to the west.
