Waseem is a spy working as the head of security at the Pakistani Consulate in Miami. Far from devout in his Muslim beliefs, he enjoyed life in Miami to its fullest potential, eating at high-priced Indian restaurants and flirting with local girls. This made him incredibly easy for Michael Westen to blackmail in his quest for documents pertaining to Carla Baxter. Michael had pictures taken that appeared to implicate Waseem in sharing Pakistani intel with him. While this would not have gotten Waseem killed, it would have caused him to be relocated to less pleasant climes. Waseem, not wishing to give up his very comfortable life abroad, agreed to give Westen intelligence on Carla.
