Christa McAuliffe was an American astronaut in NASA's Space Shuttle program. She was a teacher who became a crewmember on STS-51L. In 2063, the assignment patch for this mission was on display in the Crash-n-Burn Bar. This patch bore the astronaut's last name and an apple (a symbol of teaching). (Star Trek: First Contact) She was the first and only individual in the Teacher in Space Project (TIPS). The patch for this project was on display in the 602 Club in 2143.
