They contain an area with multiple holes in the floor, a giant stone block and a lever. In order to survive, Kratos must pull the lever and push the block over to a high ledge, and jump before multiple spikes rise up and skewer him. If he survives, then he can collect the Necklace of Aphrodite and move on in Pandora's Temple.
