Sir Guy of Gisbourne was the name of a character from Human mythology. Living in 12th century England, he worked for the High Sheriff of Nottingham as a second-in-command. Guy wanted to marry Maid Marian, who was in a romantic relationship with Robin Hood. After capturing her, he held Maid Marian in Nottingham Castle where she was rescued from execution by Hood after refusing Guy's proposal for marriage and was found guilty of outlawry and treason. Sir Guy of Gisbourne was played by actor Clive Revill.
