MTVNick (originally Nick at Nite) is an American cable network owned by Viacom Media Networks that operates nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Eastern and Pacific Time. It is programmed by MTV, a subsidiary of Viacom Media Networks, which also developed a prior television programming block seen on Nickelodeon: Snick (which later became a block on MTVNick in 2012). The name comes from the two names of the main channels that are featured on the network, MTV (the channel's programmer) and Nickelodeon (shares channel space with). The channel debuted at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on July 1, 1985, under the name Nick at Nite, as a block. Its original programming consisted of older TV shows from around the 60s time period.
