[Source] The decoy glowrod was a piece of equipment used by enemies of the Galactic Empire and smugglers alike. It was a fully functional glowrod with a hollowed-out handle, that could be used to hide small objects—from code cylinders and datacards to credit chips and small comlinks. Since the glowrod was fully functional, Imperial agents almost never suspected that the device could also carry contraband.
