The Gaduridan presidential election of 3989 were held in July of that year. The results of the election were significant for Gaduridan politics. For the first time since 3977 (and not including the brief presidency of Alfredo Gentile), Luke Dunsmore had been removed from his position as head of state. Enzo Iglesias, of the Liberal Socialist Party, won the first round, and beat Hu Win Me of the Conservative Union in the second round with votes of 51% again 49%. This, coupled with the general election that year, saw the LSP gain a great degree of power in the government, and saw a rebirth in the Conservative Union.
