The NOCTURNAL Passive Defence System is a UNSC vehicle mounted defensive system for defeating infrared and thermal guided munitions. Though rarely used in modern combat, due to the low price and small size of the NOCTURNAL System, it is installed on the majority of ground combat vehicles.
