Dr. Martin Ortiz was a SRPA physician who had attended Jordan Shepherd following his transformation into Daedalus. Ortiz was outright furious of Shepherd's mutation. On July 8th, 1951, Ortiz berated Daedalus while attending his cell for causing a "world of problems" and his failure to report of his compromised biology which had led to his current form. Because of Ortiz's constant berating, Daedalus reacted violently by using using his mental powers to kill eleven SRPA employees before Ortiz summoned a panic team in subduing and sedating Daedalus.
