Survivor: Gabon - Earth's Last Eden is a fanfic based on the seventeenth season of the CBS reality television series Survivor. The premiere aired December 28, 2008. It marks the first time that Survivor was shot in high definition, with Sony XDCAMs. Episode 8 also included a completely new twist. On Day 19, both tribes went to Tribal Council. Host Jeff Probst offered the remaining castaways a bribe of $50,000 to leave the game. In the end, Corinne Kaplan took the bribe and snuffed out her own torch, removing herself from the game in one of the most controversial twists the show has ever seen.
