Steve Holland (1924-1997) played Flash Gordon in the 1954 syndicated Flash Gordon series. Holland was a male model turned actor, whose other few credits included a bit as an extra in The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell (1955) and an appearance on the TV version of Suspense in 1951. As a model, however, Holland's likeness and physeique were utilized for covers of Doc Savage and as Steed for the The Avengersbook series. As Flash Gordon, Steve Holland played an agent of the Galactic Bureau of Investigation, and not a rebel stranded on an oppressed planet.
