Astarte was a Goddess who like Anat was a Goddess of war and was seen to protect the Pharaoh in battle. Her origins can be found in Syria and she is not known to have ad a cult in Egypt before the 18th Dynasty. Usually she was represented naked on the back of a horse wearing the Atef Crown or bulls horns on her head. Different sources say she was the daughter of Re and Ptah as well as being a consort of Seth.
