The Jedi Academy of Alaris Prime was established by members of the Jedi Order during the New Sith Wars on the moon of the planet Alaris. Established as a fortress by Jedi Master Awwaar, the Wookiee declared himself Lord of the Kashyyyk system and led forty loyal Jedi Knights with him to protect his home system from the Sith Empire. Holding court within the battlements of his fortress, Awwaar trained all Force-sensitives born in or near the system, maintaining them as part of his banner men. His Court, comprised of Jedi Masters loyal to him, reigned supreme in the system and drove out Sith and slavers alike. Successors to the lordship maintained the castle for centuries, never once letting it fall into the hands of the Sith. This streak of success was not to last, as the castle finally fell
