The ice hockey department of the Storhamar IL was founded on 18 March 1957. Team colours are yellow and blue. The Storhamar Dragons play out of the Hamar OL-Amfi, a 6000 seater arena built for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. The club has won the Norwegian Championships (play offs) six times, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2004 and [[2007%E2%80%9308_GET-ligaen_season|2008]].
