The Pacific Sevens Cup is a Rugby Sevens torunament that includes eight of the best Rugby Sevens Teams in the Pacific Ocean and is played usually in October. The cup began in 2006 with six teams - New Zealand, Australia, Samoa, Tonga, Japan and Hong Kong. In 2010 the tournament added two more national teams Fiji and the Lovian National Sevens Team. The cup neighbors the larger Pacific Islands Cup which includes 20 teams compared to the consistant eight teams of the Pacific Sevens Cup. Both cups are IRB supervised and monitored.
