The majority of Georgia's inhabitants (83.9%) follow the Georgian Orthodox Church. Minority religions in the country include Islam (followed by 9.9% of the population), Armenian Christianity (3.9%), the Russian Orthodox Church (2%)and the Roman Catholic Church (0.8%). There are small Protestant and Jewish minorities. About 0.1% of the people of Georgia are Buddhists. Georgia's constitution stipulates separation of church and state and guarantees religious freedom.
