Janet James appeared in Coronation Street in April 1988 as a WPC who arrested Mike Baldwin for drink-driving. She trained at the Theatre School in Didsbury and although having ambitions to be an actress, realised that she had a talent for voice work when she was copyrighting scripts for this area of the business. Since then she has specialised in voice work on children's serials such as Little Monsters, Fifi and The Flowertots, Get Squiggling, The Koala Brothers and Muddle Earth.
