Heavy Patrol Craft are similar to the Light Patrol Craft, but equipped with 2 Electromagnetic Launch System tubes and an Antiproton Cannon turret. Heavy Patrol Craft carry a crew complement between 20 and 30 sentients and usually serve as the command ship for a squadron of Light Patrol Craft. Like the Light Patrol Craft, several sub-classes of the Heavy Patrol Craft are in use throughout the Commonwealth, and each can be used as an additional medium range sensor platform by an Heavy Cruiser Battle Group or Planetfall Readiness Group during combat operations.
