The Cougars have a team in the women's ECAC West league. The program dates back to the 1996-97 season when they played as a club level team. The program joined the ECAC West Conference for the 2002-03 season. The school was announced as being a charter member of the United Collegiate Hockey Conference which begins play with the 2017-18 season.
