Gail is annoyed when Martin arrives home and Nick quickly returns to Don's house. Deirdre remembers her past marriages and wonders if she is doing the right thing. Mike lays on the Mercedes to drive Deirdre to the register office, wanting it to be a special day for her and a terrible one for Ken. Fiona is shaken when Steve tells her that unless he gets sorted with Christine Bullock he could go to prison. She urges him to stop playing at life and face up to his responsibilities. Ken apologises to Deirdre and wishes her well, saying she deserves some happiness. Gail accuses Martin of frightening Nick off. He feels like an intruder in his own home.
