The design for the funghi Loveangel is based on that of the original game's Angel and Archangel funghi. It is also a reference to Cupid the roman god of desire, affection and erotic love, who's imagery is often linked with that of angelic beings such as Putto (sometimes mistakenly called Cherubs).
