The RX170D features an alder body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a TZ synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez Powersound pickups. The RX170D replaced the RX170 with only minor changes. It was discontinued after 1997.
