The 2009 Rally Finland was run from the 31st of July to the 2nd of August. The rally was won by Mikko Hirvonen's Ford which meant he increased his lead over Sebastien Loeb to 3 points with just 3 rounds to go. Jari-Matti Latvala took 3rd place which meant that Ford closed the gap on Citroen in the manufacterer's championship. Martin Prokop was declared as JWRC champion at the end of the rally.
