During the culling of Sateda in 1998, she, Rakai, Tyre, Marika and Hemi were on another planet fighting the Wraith, but were captured. During their imprisonment, she was constantly fed on and given the Gift of Life several times until she swore allegiance to the Wraith. She then went with Rakai and Tyre to a planet where they finally came across Ronon and his team. Upon traveling together to a Wraith facility, Ronon eventually found out that she was a Wraith worshipper. Ronon denounced and fought them. Ara was the first to be killed when she surprised Rakai, who had a knife and cut her throat with it. (SGA: "Reunion")
