Andrei Markov, nicknamed "Akula", was a human male ace TIE pilot in the Imperial Navy, holding the rank of colonel. Becoming a highly skilled pilot during the Galactic Civil War, Andrei quickly moved up the ranks and earned the Emperor's praise. However, he eventually became dissatisfied with the Galactic Empire, deeming it too corrupt due to Palpatine. A lover of his that he met on Berchest, in the Inner Rim Territories, Krista Yoslav, was killed by stormtrooper during a raid. Because of those two problems, Andrei attempted a coup d'état against the Imperial government, with a fleet of naval vessels commanded by captains who felt the same.
