In Lakota mythology, Haokah is a hunting god and a spirit of thunder and lightning who uses the wind as sticks to beat the drums of thunder. His emotions are portrayed opposite to those of humans; he shivers when he is hot and sweats in the cold, and he cries when he is happy and laughs when he is sad.
